Frequently asked questions
What is BotYalla (Bot Yalla)?
BotYalla — also written «بوت يلا» or Bot Yalla — is a no-code platform from Egypt that builds a bot for your business on official WhatsApp and Telegram: it answers customers, takes orders and bookings, and gives your team a shared inbox. Founded by Youssef Alsherief, priced in Egyptian pounds. Official website: botyalla.com.
Do I need to know how to code?
Not at all. Everything is point-and-type. If you like, the AI agent asks a few questions about your business and builds the whole bot — you preview it before applying, and can roll back to any earlier version.
How do I start on Telegram?
From your dashboard tap “Create my bot” (or scan the QR on a computer). Telegram opens with the bot’s name and username ready — edit them if you like and confirm, and the bot is created, started and linked to your account. It uses Telegram’s official Managed Bots feature, and the bot stays yours. Prefer the classic way? A BotFather token still works.
What do I need for a WhatsApp bot?
Official WhatsApp (Meta’s WhatsApp Cloud API) needs a Meta Business account and a number dedicated to your business, and Meta's business verification is easier with a commercial register and tax card — if you don't have them, our team prepares the paperwork and submits it, and Meta makes the final decision. It’s on the WhatsApp and Agency plans, with a step-by-step connection guide inside. Not ready yet? Start on Telegram today.
How do payment and activation work?
Through local methods: Vodafone Cash, InstaPay or bank transfer. Upload the receipt, we review it and activate your plan — and email you a receipt. There’s never an automatic charge, and the free plan works right away without paying.
If I change plans, do I lose what I paid?
No. Your remaining paid days turn into days on the new plan by their value: a cheaper plan gives you more days, a pricier one fewer — and the page shows you the number before you pay. Renewing the same plan early is added to what’s left.
How are WhatsApp marketing messages charged?
Meta charges for every marketing message, so they aren’t in any plan: you top up credit and pay for what you use (3.79 EGP per message today). The cost shows before sending, only delivered messages are charged, and undelivered ones are refunded automatically. Service messages have a monthly allowance in your plan.
Can I cancel or get a refund?
There’s no automatic renewal — cancelling simply means not renewing. If your payment is rejected or duplicated by mistake, we refund it in full. The details are in our Refund Policy.
Is my data and my customers’ data safe?
Every bot’s data is isolated, bot tokens are stored encrypted, receipts are private, passwords are hashed with secure email recovery, and backups are taken and checked daily. And we never ask for your Telegram login.
What is “the bot’s brain” and how is it charged?
An optional mode on paid plans: instead of buttons only, the bot understands your customers’ free-form messages and answers from your business info, logs orders, and calls you in when needed. Each plan includes a monthly reply allowance (shown in pricing); beyond that it uses your credit (0.25 EGP per reply). You switch it on yourself, and can go back to button mode any time.
Can I reply to a customer myself?
Yes. The inbox shows every conversation; tap “Take over” next to any customer and the bot goes quiet while you reply, then resumes on its own 12 hours after your last message. On WhatsApp, manual replies work within 24 hours of the customer’s last message (Meta’s rule). Manual replies are on paid plans; the free plan can view conversations.
Can I connect my Facebook Page and Instagram account?
Soon. One-tap connection is built and awaiting Meta's final approval. Register your interest in the channels section and we'll tell you as soon as it opens — meanwhile start free on Telegram or with official WhatsApp.
Do Messenger and Instagram have per-message fees like WhatsApp?
No. Meta doesn’t charge for customer-service replies on Messenger and Instagram (within 24 hours of the customer’s message), so your bot replies freely at no extra cost — it’s all in your plan.
Does Meta charge for WhatsApp messages on top of the subscription?
Meta's message fees are separate from your subscription: the first 1,000 service messages a month per number are free under Meta's policy, and the rest are billed to your own WhatsApp account at Meta's rates. To keep messages flowing after the free tier, add a payment method in Meta.
